ELMIRA, NY- Tops on Elmira’s Southside has already seen a great response to the 12th Annual March Out Hunger. From now until the official “march” on October 8, 2013, local businesses and school districts are participating in this local, “food-raising” event. Designed to stock the pantry at Catholic Charities’ Samaritan Center and fill “blizzard bags” for Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, the March Out Hunger has become a staple for hunger relief in our community.

How can you help? Community members and businesses are encouraged to donate food at any of the following locations:

  • Tops Friendly Markets, any Chemung County Location
  • Walgreens, South or North Main St., Elmira
  • Chemung Canal Trust Company any Chemung County Branch
  • NY Sport & Fitness, Elmira
  • Elmira & Horseheads School Districts
  • Holy Family Catholic School

The community is also invited to join us for the March on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at noon. The march will begin at Tops parking lot, 229 South Main Street, Elmira and proceed two blocks south to The Samaritan Center.
