October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Catholic Charities wants your help to say, “Take a Hike, Domestic Violence!” This awareness event takes place on Saturday, October 25th from 10a-Noon. There is no registration fee, but Catholic Charities will be accepting donations of personal care items for women. There will be t-shirts available for children and adults, as well as free bracelets.
Participants should meet at the Catholic Charities’ office (607 N. Franklin St., Watkins Glen, NY) to pick up their t-shirts and drop off donations of personal care items. Then they will hike to the top of the Watkins Glen Gorge! Bring your family & friends out to take a hike and make the community aware of domestic violence and the resources to help those in need of advocacy and support!
This free event is open to the public and hosted by Catholic Charities of Schuyler County and the Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT). For more information on the event, contact Bethany at 607.535.2050, ext. 205.
