WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. Catholic Charities’ Schuyler Outreach Food Pantry can be visited once a month by any member of Schuyler County, regardless of income. During a visit, families receive a minimum 3 day supply of food for each member of the family. Based on the “My Plate Guidelines” a family of 4 would receive 18 fruit and vegetable choices, 12 protein choices and 6 grain choices. 18 cans of fruits and vegetables are not desirable to most families. Fresh, crisp fruits and vegetables are far more appealing and versatile.

During a single month, 4,500 servings of fruits and vegetables are given out. We are in need of help from our community. If you are planning to plant a garden this year, please consider adding a row for your neighbors in need. On average, we see 250 households a month which includes an average of 170 children. These children would love to receive fresh fruits and veggies! food donation-soilandwater
