Schuyler County Public Health, in cooperation with Catholic Charities’ Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), will be holding a Volunteer Fair Event on Monday, April 24, 2017, to kick off National Volunteer Week. The Volunteer Fair will be held at the Schuyler County Human Services Complex in Montour Falls in Room 120 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

It will be a showcase for volunteer opportunities and an informative session for businesses (both for-profit and non-profit). It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the leaders of local organizations and businesses that are looking for volunteers. This is a free event for anyone looking to expand their horizons through volunteering.

Sue Larson, RSVP Director, stated, “The Volunteer Fair hopes to accomplish an introduction to volunteering in a relaxed environment, no pressure, just information. Niki and I invite all current volunteers and potential volunteers to come and check out our community partners that have volunteer opportunities. It’s important to see what is out there, find something you are passionate about and get involved in helping your community. There are so many benefits to volunteering!”

We hope you will consider joining us. For more information, contact Niki Turnmyre at Schuyler County Public Health (, 607-535-8140) or Sue Larson at Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler (, 607-535-2050, ext. 211).
