Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties, in partnership with the Catholic Parishes of Chemung County Social Ministry Committees, is presenting a free panel presentation on the opioid crisis.

The growing epidemic of addiction to opioids and other drugs affects so many families and individuals in communities across the Southern Tier and New York State. Catholic Charities seeks to work together with local faith communities to address the issue, beginning with education to understand the problem, as well as exploring what faith communities can do. All are welcome to attend this important program.

The Elmira Catholic Community will host the panel presentation on opioid drug addiction on Sunday, January 28 from 1-2 pm in the Elmira Catholic Parishes’ Faith Formation Center at 1010 Davis Street, Elmira (former St. Casimir School).

The panel of presenters includes Detective Dan VanDine from the City of Elmira Police Department and Catherine Basu, the Clinical Director at CASA-Trinity of Chemung.
