About the Elmira Community Kitchen: Since the Elmira Community Kitchen first opened its doors in 1981, kind and caring volunteers from local faith communities and organizations have prepared nourishing meals and offered a warm welcome to thousands of neighbors-in-need of all ages each year. Our guests include families with children, low-wage working people, persons who are homeless, seniors, persons with disabilities. We have learned over the years that nutritious food and companionship at the table are equally important to human well-being and we offer both.
