“We care about helping people in our communities struggling with homelessness,” Tom said. “This grant enables the Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler to continue their important work assisting homeless people in our area.”
As Chairperson of the NY501 Continuum of Care, Charles Nocera, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, commented, “On behalf of all the community-based organizations serving people who are homeless in the Southern Tier, I can say that we are collectively ‘relieved’ to learn that we will be able to continue providing much needed affordable and safe permanent housing.”
NY-501 Regional Continuum of Care includes City of Elmira, Steuben, Allegany, Livingston, Chemung, Schuyler Counties. The Regional Continuum of Care promotes community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness and provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, States, and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families.
