The Chemung Peer Network is a partnership aimed at bringing Peer Support experiences to people in Chemung County. The Network of six Agencies will be hiring 12 full-time Peer Professionals.

Peer Professionals are community members who have lived experience with using services, support networks, wellness techniques, and other resources to achieve recovery from mental illness and/or substance use, and who are interested in becoming employed to share their experiences with others. Appropriate applicants should be prepared to disclose and discuss their recovery and share techniques they used with the people they will support. These are full-time positions and are available at several area agencies who make up the Chemung Peer Network.

The Chemung Peer Network is holding a Job Fair on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Catholic Charities (215 E. Church St., Elmira, NY 14901).

Representatives from AIM, Aspire Hope NY, Capabilities, Inc., Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler, Family Services of Chemung County, Inc., and Trinity will be on hand to talk about their organizations and how a career in Peer Empowerment might be just what you’ve been looking for! Come learn about this exciting new opportunity to share your experiences and help others in your community.

If you are unable to make it to the job fair but are interested in learning more, please contact Michelle Nicholas at (607) 734-9784, ext. 2211, or via email.
