In many ways, poverty is a silent killer. It feeds on your insecurities, makes you feel less than everyone else.

Imagine a childhood in poverty. Being raised by parents that can’t promise you a next meal or a warm place to sleep at night. It doesn’t matter if you are naughty or nice because Santa never comes. And the idea of having something “new” is foreign to you. Everything you have is constantly taken away.

If this was your childhood, what would you become? How would you break the cycle? The truth is, it’s not easy. There will be days where you feel like you made it out. And then you’re laid off or become sick or don’t have the money to keep your power on.

And that’s when you’ll need to find courage. Courage to ask for help. Courage to turn to an agency like Catholic Charities.

At Catholic Charities, we know that Asking for Help is a Courageous Act and we will be here for every person looking to break the cycle of poverty.

We ask for your continued support in making this possible.

Please consider a gift today to help local families create a better life for their children.

On behalf of Catholic Charities, we wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year.

Sincerely,

Chuck Nocera, Executive Director &
