Dear Prospective Homebuyer:

Thank you for your interest in the First-Time Homebuyer Program! You are invited to our next Pre-Purchase Home Buyers Workshop.

In the workshop you will learn about goal setting, financial fitness, credit worthiness, working with a lender, what an affordable mortgage is, working with a realtor, the home inspection, responsibilities of being a successful homeowner and more!

THIS INFORMATIVE WORKSHOP IS A REQUIREMENT FOR THOSE SEEKING ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE CITY OF ELMIRA’S FIRST TIME HOME BUYER PROGRAM.

Our next workshop is:
Wednesday, September 6th      5:30 PM – 8:30 PM Part I
Tuesday, September 12th          5:30 PM – 8:30 PM Part II
Thursday, September 14th        5:30 PM – 8:30 PM Part III
(Attendance to Part I, II & III is required to receive a certificate of completion)

We welcome a $20 donation to help cover the cost of materials for the training.
Services are not denied if an applicant is unable to pay.

The workshop will be held at Catholic Charities, 215 E. Church Street, Suite 102, Elmira. The parking lot is in the back of the building (access parking through old State Street at the corner of Second Street and Clemens Parkway). Please enter through the back door from the parking lot.

If you are unable to attend the upcoming workshops listed above but want to be invited to future workshops, please notify us. We look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goal of home ownership. When you call, we can review the income guidelines and criteria of the program to see if it fits your situation.  Please note: the down-payment assistant grant is only for purchase in the City of Elmira – but anyone is welcome at the workshop.
